Robotic Sailboats Scour the Ocean for Data
Saildrone has created a robotic sailboat stuffed with sensors, able to gather data all over the world, without the need for a human crew. Using fish finding sonar, they are being used to track Haddock and seal populations in the Bering sea, with more accuracy and a lower cost than manned vessels. Read more at the NY Times website.
