Huggins High School Science Seminar 2016

The annual Huggins High School Science Seminar invites high school students from across the province to come to Acadia to hear scientists speak about new and exciting projects, and even participate in their own. This year, the seminar was held on April 27, 2016 and speakers included Dr. Matthew Lukeman, Dr. Danny Silver, Dr. Anna Redden, and Dr. Scott Landry in fields ranging from Biology to Data Analytics. This year, data analytics was a centre piece activity of the seminar. Using data gathered throughout the day, students used Weka, a data mining tool, to identify the key factors of a fictional disease.
