AIDA Delivers Two Successful Workshops on Deep Learning
On March 20th, 2019 Dr. Danny Silver and Dr. Andy McIntyre of the Acadia Institute for Data Analytics (AIDA) lead a workshop, “An Introduction to Deep Learning with Neural Networks”, at Acadia University to an audience of faculty, students, and industry professionals. With an audience of 20+ people, AIDA provided a gentle hands-on introduction to developing predictive models using deep learning artificial neural networks. AIDA provided a high-level overview of the key elements of neural networks and deep learning, and recent advances that allow deep networks to solve challenging problems such as object recognition in images, sequence prediction.
Building on the success of the initial workshop, AIDA took their Deep Learning workshop on the road to Volta Labs in Halifax on August 14th, 2019. Similar to the Acadia University session of the Deep Learning workshop, the audience was made up of 20+ people ranging from Dalhousie University and St. Mary’s University students and industry professionals.
The AIDA team is currently investigating new areas to deliver their Deep Learning workshop. If you are interested in the workshop please contact us at aida@acaidu.ca.
