Introduction to GIS Software

Location: Patterson 316, Acadia University
Presenter: Dewey Dunnington

This workshop will introduce Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in the context of data analytics. Many data formats and structures exist that allow analysts to take advantage of existing open source spatial analysis tools, which allow for the integration of existing data and effective communication of results. The workshop is based on the free, open-source program QGIS, so participants will leave with competencies in GIS, in addition to a fully functioning software package capable of many features offered by more expensive applications such as ArcGIS.

Cost: $18.50
