Engagement Process

IDEA CREATION

A new start-up or existing business (client) formulates an idea for a new product or service, a process that requires optimization, etc. that would require the expertise of the Acadia Institute for Data Analytics (AIDA).

APPLICATION

In order to start the process, the client must submit an application to AIDA via the online form found on the website. The application is intended to provide the AIDA team with all of the information required to identify the client, problem, and determine what will be required in order to move forward if it is a proper fit for the services that AIDA provides. Once an application is received, the application will then be:

1.     Review by AIDA team

2.     Review by AIDA Steering Committee

3.     Meeting, video or telephone conference to further discuss the contents of the application

IDEA EVALUATION

WELL-FORMED NEED FOR DATA ANALYTICS

EXPLORATION

IDEA REQUIRES FURTHER DEVELOPMENT

The client has collected appropriate and adequate data and has a well-formed problem. The client is ready for the project planning phase.

The idea requires further exploration. This may mean that the client will need to collect more data or need guidance to reach the stage where a project can be developed.

The idea requires further development in order to develop a viable data analytics project. This may require further business development or technical development.

PROJECT PROPOSAL

Once all parties agree that the requirements for a data analytics project are met, a project proposal / work plan will be created. A project proposal will be developed that contains:

1.     Project description

2.     Desired outcomes

3.     Approach

4.     Project timeline

5.     Estimated cost

* All research contracts, service or consulting contracts, research grants, licensing or acquisitions of Acadia technologies, or partnerships with the Acadia Institute for Data Analytics will be processed through the Office of Industry and Community Engagement at Acadia University.
